Brilliant portrait session in the great outdoors.
“Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.”
– Henry David Thoreau
Last weekend I visited Massachusetts where, on top of spending Mother’s Day with my mom for the first time in several years, I met my newborn niece. I also enjoyed a cool misty day with my dad wandering Walden Pond. I can see why Thoreau wrote as he did while living here.
One of the most challenging and creatively satisfying photo shoots I did recently was a portrait session involving three distinct looks. Each look had a different aesthetic, from the clothing, accessories, hair and makeup, to the mood.
The session was with one my favorite clients, Stephanie. This is her first look, which I called Goddess. The curls, neutral tones, and simple but flawless makeup were a perfect combination.
A festive and funky night at Monarch celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

The more photography gigs I take on, the more in tune I become to not only my creative skills, but also my interests. A fast growing niche for me is health and fitness photography. I shot these photos for Keilani Pilates last fall.
